This No Loft configuration keeps the high center beneath the gambrel roof open, while the centered double doors provide an entrance at the end of the building. It is a DIY project you can arrange around your tools, your interests, and the jobs you want to tackle next.
Benefits
Keep supplies along the walls and a route through the middle: The gable-end entrance leaves both long sidewalls free of the main doorway. You can plan your own shelves, hooks, or containers along those walls, keeping frequently used supplies within reach without placing everything in the center.
Put the tall center to use: The gambrel roof reaches a maximum interior height of 10 ft 10 in at its open center, and this configuration has no storage loft platforms. That gives you a high central area to consider when positioning your own work surface or handling project materials inside.
Open both doors for awkward loads: The paired barn doors provide a broader entrance when both leaves are open. That is useful when carrying storage containers, bags of garden supplies, or project materials that are cumbersome to manage through a single door.
Begin with part of the preparation already done: Precision pre-cut wood components and prebuilt barn doors reduce the material preparation and door construction left to the builder. Assembly and some on-site cutting are still required, giving you a hands-on project with key parts already prepared.
Give the barn its own character: The LP SmartSide siding arrives primed, leaving the exterior paint color up to you. Echo the colors of your home or choose a separate color for the shed; exterior painting is required, and paint is purchased separately.

Pre-cut wood framing
The kit supplies pre-cut wood components for the build, with 2x4 studs used in the wall framing. These prepared pieces reduce some of the measuring and cutting involved in starting from raw lumber. You assemble the structure on site, with some additional cutting required.
Centered gable double doors
Two prebuilt barn-door leaves are included, removing the need to construct the doors from scratch. You install them at the center of the gable end during assembly. This places the main entrance on an end wall and leaves both long sidewalls without a main doorway.
SecureTruss gambrel roof
The SecureTruss roof construction forms the barn-shaped gambrel profile and taller central ceiling. This configuration has no loft storage platforms. Small structural support shelves remain at the front and rear gables as part of the building’s construction.
Primed LP SmartSide siding
The included LP SmartSide siding forms the exterior wall covering and comes with primer already applied. You supply the exterior paint required to finish it, choosing the color for the completed shed.
OSB roof sheathing
Included OSB sheathing covers the roof framing and provides the base for shingles or metal roofing. The roof covering, drip edge, and roofing fasteners are purchased separately to complete the roof.

Roof: Roof sheathing is included. Supply the final shingles or metal roofing, drip edge, and appropriate roofing nails or screws separately.
Foundation and Assembly Planning
Use the manual’s 12 ft 0 in × 20 ft 0 in foundation dimensions and check local requirements before preparing the site. The manual includes a wood-floor layout and a concrete-pad option. For concrete construction, follow its sill-sealer detail between the concrete and wall plates.

Before You Build
Manual and parts list: Read the 12x20 No Loft manual and check the parts list before construction. Keep the pallet and packing materials until the project is complete.
Local requirements: Check with your HOA or local building office for requirements and restrictions before preparing the foundation.
Tools and staging: Sort parts by size and type. The manual lists a hand or circular saw, cordless drill, hammer, pencil, level, measuring tape, 6–8 ft ladders, safety glasses, dust mask, Phillips screwdriver and framing square.
Assembly and finishing: Follow the numbered assembly steps, including the required cuts. Have the separately supplied roofing and finishing materials ready for the relevant stages.
Exterior Finishing and Care
Within 30 days of assembly, apply at least two coats of 100% acrylic latex exterior paint or solid-colored stain.
Paint and seal exposed SmartSide edges, sides and faces, exterior walls, and all door sides and edges. Caulk above all doors and at horizontal and vertical trim boards. If windows are fitted, caulk along the sides and top of their flanges as instructed.

Does No Loft mean there are no shelves above the main level?
This configuration has no storage loft platforms. Small front and rear gable support shelves remain; they are not the storage platforms supplied with a With Loft model.
Where are the doors, and how large are they?
The barn doors are centered on the gable end and measure 6 ft wide × 6 ft 4 in high. Compare your equipment and access needs with the assembly plans before ordering.

To start a return, please email us at sales@homesteadsupplier.com. All products must be returned unopened and in the original packaging. Reason for return must be provided. All returns are subject to a 10% - 25% restocking fee which will be deducted from your refund to the same credit card used for your purchase. A Return Authorization Number is required before sending back a return. Please contact our customer service to receive a Return Authorization Number. You will be responsible for all shipping costs for a return unless the return is due to a manufacturing defect or otherwise approved from customer service. If a product is shipped with expedited shipping requested by the customer, the shipping cost is not refundable. Return shipping address will be given when RMA number is issued.
