• All instructions are included, we have plenty of resources to get you started building. There are even video tutorials! 
• Prepare an even-level site for the best stability. The building will only be as level as the site is, so make sure you don’t skip this important step. We have instructions for you below.
• Check all your local zoning regulations and secure any permits beforehand.
• Make sure you have the necessary help to unload the shed once it arrives. Have two or three people ready to help you unload the contents of the pallet as since the delivery is curbside only, having a liftgate or jack is not a guarantee.
• Decide if you’re going for a cement slab or a wooden floor. If you’re going for a slab, make sure to select the pressure-treated bottom plate add-on. If you opt to build your own wooden floor, then please get in touch with us so we can help you with your floor plans.

EZ-Fit Sheds: Permits and Zoning Regulations

It is absolutely crucial that you check your local zoning laws and regulations before you buy the shed. There are some states that allow a maximum-size shed without you having to secure a permit. 

Some hurricane-prone states such as Florida and other Atlantic states also usually have a stricter Wind Rating regulation, so check this as well. EZ-fit sheds have an optional add-on to reinforce the shed and increase the wind rating up to 140 mph from the default 90 mph, so if you live in this area, consider adding this option as well.

Please do keep in mind that you’re responsible for compliance with your local state, so due diligence is key. You can opt to consult with a licensed handyman or contractor as they are usually informed regarding the laws and regulations in your area. 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

How difficult are EZ Fit Sheds to set up?

Regardless of your carpentry skills, anybody can put together this kit. Experienced builders with two or three people helping can assemble this as quickly as six hours. However, we have also some customers who were absolute beginners who managed to make this a hobby project and were able to assemble it over a weekend.

Do I need to hire a handyman or a contractor?

There are plenty of resources such as manuals and videos to guide you through, but the option of hiring help is also a popular choice– there are plenty of handyman services available out there, and if you need our recommendations, you can also call us or email us and we’ll gladly help you.

How about paint and shingles?

You will need to provide the paint and shingles. The siding is already primed for paint, any exterior latex paint works. As for the shingles, if you provide us with your desired size, we can provide you with the number of square feet you need. You can then provide this number to your local home improvement store and they can provide you with the exact number of shingles you need. 

Do you offer installation services or construction assistance?

We recommend using handy.com or installers.org if you want to book help online. We are not affiliated with them but they are reportedly good options based on recommendations from our own customers. 

Sourcing your own handyman or contractor would actually save more versus buying from sites that offer on-site installation as they usually use the same services but with a mark-up.

Why don’t you include shingles with EZ fit sheds?

You save more if you purchase them yourself! If we included shingles, we’ll have to ship them with the pallet. This makes the whole shipment much heavier resulting in extra cost in shipping, thus making the whole kit more expensive to buy. 

Leaving shingles out enables us to pass on the savings and keep the sheds affordable. Also, you can have plenty more options to match your home or any regulations from your homeowner’s association.

Why don’t you include the floor with the kit?

This is because not everyone who buys an EZ fit shed will actually need a floor. Some build directly on top of a cement slab and opt to use that as their floor instead of constructing a wooden one. For the same reasons as to why we don’t include shingles, you save a lot more if you source your own wood from your local lumber yard. 

The materials needed for the floor plan aren’t hard to source as they are primarily just OSB plywood, 2x4’s and 4x4’s. We can provide you with plans for the floor ahead of time that you can use as a reference.
