Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Heatstrip withstand outdoor conditions?
Yes, the Heatstrip is designed to be waterproof with an IP55 rating, so you can mount it outside without the need to cover it. The entirety of the unit is sealed and can withstand rain and even snow! Unlike other heaters, the Heatstrip does not need a weather shield to use outdoors.
How about indoors?
Absolutely! The Heatsrip is perfect for areas that are hard to heat such as bathrooms, by the pool, even inside your shed.
How high should I mount it?
The ideal height would be somewhere around 6 to 9 feet from the ground. If you plan on setting it up higher than that, you can always add more heaters to cover the space.
How close can they be set up from each other?
Heatstrip is unique in that you can set up multiple heaters mounted end to end, as many times as you need. You can create your own heating system by using as many heaters as you want.
How do I control my Heatstrip?
You can either use the timer switch, the manual switch, or the home automation system. Your electrician can even install a standard 15 Amp Switch which also works great.
What is the kind of heat that I should expect?
The Heatstrip will turn an icy cold winter into a warm summer day. Unlike the blaring, glowing, red heat from standard convection heaters, the Heatstrip provides a very pleasant clean heat that is much more enjoyable.
Since it also designed to be twice as long as glowing red heaters, it also covers more area and provides a more even coverage.
How does radiant technology work?
Just like the sun, the Heatsrip uses the same process. It will heat anything including your furniture the same way natural daylight does. The front black face of the heater can go up to 650 F and will emit warmth to everything it covers..
Are they easy to install?
YES, Heatstrip comes with standard mounting brackets that can be mounted straight or at an angle. Your electrical contractor can mount them to your roof or wall easily.
Is it difficult to install?
Absolutely not, the Heatsrip is very easy to put together, and as it comes fully assembled. You would need to only mount it to your roof or wall straight or angled. You just need to assemble the brackets which are flexible and run along the length of the heater. We recommend six inches from each end.
What is the distance between holes on the brackets and what type of screws do I need?
The distance is 4 inches apart. You will need a ¼” screw, bolt, etc to attach it to the ceiling or the wall. The Heatsrip should be mounted six inches from your ceiling.
What is the maintenance required?
You would only need to house it down at least once every three months. We especially recommend doing this if you live near a beach or a saltwater environment.
Does this consume a lot of electricity? Should I be worried about my utility bill?
Great news– these heaters are generally cheaper than propane. Of course, this depends on what size heater you have, but this should cost an average of 25 cents an hour to run for the standard 2400 Watt Heatsrip.
What are the certifications and approvals that Heatstrip has?
All Heastrip heaters have the Underwriters Laboratory and CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certifications and are approved for sale in the USA. They are quality checked and each Heatsrip has an individual serial number.
Is this good for the Environment?
Absolutely! Especially when you use renewable energy such as hydro, solar, or wind. Unlike gas heaters, you can use these types of energy to run the heater which reduces the carbon footprint and reduce fossil fuel consumption that harms the atmosphere.
What are Heatsrips made of?
All Heatstrips are made from a durable, corrosion-proof, resistant alloy and marine grade Stainless Steel. These are made to withstand all types of weather conditions such as rain, sunshine, and dust– so it is literally designed to survive a harsh outdoor climate.
